The book includes a description of the exam requirements and expectations, selected past exam questions, tips on learning strategies and how to approach the questions, as well as sample solutions to original exam questions. This book is intended to assist anyone preparing for a written exam in school pedagogy.
To this end, all phases of an exam are examined—from preparation through administration to evaluation. To optimize learning success, the format of a study journal was chosen. It is based on the authors’ decades of experience gained from numerous grading sessions as well as feedback from students.
In addition, this document lists textbooks and other publications relevant to preparing for topics on the written state examination in school pedagogy (see Teacher Certification Examination Regulations I – LPO I; Regulations for the First Examination for a Teaching Position at Public Schools in Bavaria). Please note that this list of recommended reading was compiled solely for guidance and support in preparing for the written state examination in school pedagogy (as of November 27, 2024).
Exam for the course “Introduction to School Pedagogy”
Since the exam procedures have changed since the Summer Semester 2021, the exam will be administered in a new format:
A 45-minute written exam.
- Prerequisite for admission: Completion of coursework in the areas of “Classroom Management” and “Educational Assessment.”
- The exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions with three answer options, only one of which is correct (single choice).
- No questions will be asked on the topics of “Classroom Management” and “Educational Diagnostics.”
- There will be no open-ended questions.
